It Begins!

I already feel weird doing this. I’m even questioning my use of an exclamation point for the title of my first entry.

But that’s the whole point. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and learning something new.

My goal is to develop software that can provide some support or help to those with speech and language challenges. My starting point is to learn about Natural Language Processing and see what is out there that can be used for this purpose. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Science with an emphasis on AI and although it’s been a while since I was in that world, I am naturally drawn to it and am very excited to learn where we are now with this growing technology.

I plan to keep this light, informal and goofy. Also, part of my reason for doing this out in the open is to have some accountability. I feel that having the need to update frequently will motivate me to have at least a little something to report and doing so publicly will up the responsibility a little.

To start, I thought it would be fun to have Dall-E attempt to create a logo for “Supportive Dendrite”. There will be plenty of time to try out different things and show the whole process but for this first post I’ll just show where I stopped when I got something that I thought was pretty fun.
